So, like, you see posts here and there, right? Someone ordered a couple of reps from Andrew at Trusty Time – a GMT and something else, can’t quite make it out from the snippets. And then there’s another guy, says it’s his *third* purchase from the dude and it went smooth. That’s gotta say something, right? Three times ain’t just luck, gotta be doing something right.
But here’s the thing that always gets me: the damage during shipping. Like, I saw a bit that said, “watches are intricate machines, the chances are higher that it was damaged during shipping rather than already being damaged when Trusty had it.” And you know what? That makes TOTAL sense. These things are delicate! Think about it – bouncing around in a box all the way from wherever they’re coming from? Bound to happen, innit? It’s a crapshoot, really. You could get a perfect one, or one that’s got a little… *personality* thanks to the postal service. lol.
And then you got these factories like BP and THB chuckin’ out new releases. BP’s doin’ an Explorer II 16570 (2006 version, fancy!), and THB’s got a Daydate 40mm with some DD3255 movement. I mean, who even knows what half of that means? I just like the way they *look*. Like, shiny. Expensive-ish. You know what I mean?
Honestly, reading through all this stuff, it’s kinda like… a gamble. You’re taking a chance on a replica, hoping it’s decent, and then you’re hoping it survives the journey. But if it *does* arrive in one piece, and you’re happy with it? That’s gotta be a good feeling. Like a little win.
